  • St Patrick’s Day - This year for St Patrick's day, the children learnt the history of the celebration as well as enjoying themed arts and crafts, such as shamrocks and hats.
  • World Book Day - On the 27th of February our setting took part in raising money for Book Aid International as part of World book day. The children all came in wonderful costumes and we spent the day playing sponsored games and enjoying new books, both bought and lent by parents.
  • Burns night - On 25th January we celebrated the Scottish celebration of Burns night. The children learned about the history of the night, listened to poems, made short bread and sampled haggis.
  • Jumper day - On 15th December our setting took part in Save the Children's Nationwide Christmas jumper day. Everybody in the setting dressed up in a Christmas themed jumper to raise awareness and money.
  • Christmas Party - This December 14th, our children and parents were treated to our annual Christmas party with Louby Lou the clown. We started the day with the main party and celebration, had a festive themed meal and each child received Christmas presents!
  • New addition - One of our new additions to our science section this term is a microscope, which the children have been taught to use with premade samples (ranging from stem and flower segments, to insect parts) before heading into the garden to gather their own samples for observation.
  • This Term - This term we have been studying the solar system. Each day we have taught the children about a new feature of the solar system & some of its properties, while recapping what we've learned over the previous days.
